The Shereko bot lets you run your whole event from a WhatsApp chat: no website, no password, no code by SMS. Everything you do in the bot also appears on your dashboard, and the other way round, because it is the same account.

Start a chat

  1. Open the WhatsApp bot page and tap Start on WhatsApp, or save the number shown there and send Hi.
  2. The bot asks for your name and your agreement to the Terms of Service. After that it recognises you by your phone number.
  3. If you already have a Shereko account with the same number, the bot uses that account.

Create an event and design the card

  1. The bot asks one question at a time: event name, date, venue and host names.
  2. It then sends a secure link to the card studio. Open it to design your card straight away, no separate login. When you finish, tap Back to WhatsApp.
  3. The design link expires after 30 minutes. Type LINK to get a fresh one.

Add guests from WhatsApp

There are two ways, and you can use both:

  • Share contacts. In the chat, tap the attach button, choose Contact, and pick guests from your phone. The bot adds them all and removes duplicates.
  • Group link. Type SHIRIKI (SHARE) to get a link you can post in your WhatsApp group. Guests tap it, send their name, and are added to your list. The bot tells you each time someone joins.

How the group link works:

  • Their cards are held until you check the list. Type SHIRIKI ORODHA to see who joined, then SHIRIKI TUMA to send their cards.
  • Each link takes up to 200 guests and expires after 72 hours. Type KATA SHIRIKI to close it early, or SHIRIKI again for a new link.
  • You can remove unwanted names from the guest list on the dashboard before sending.

Pay and send

  1. Choose how to send: WhatsApp only, SMS only, or WhatsApp with SMS as a backup.
  2. The bot shows the cost, then sends a payment request to your phone (Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money or HaloPesa). Confirm it with your PIN.
  3. Once payment arrives, the bot sends the invitations and reports back. Prices are on the pricing section.

After sending, when guests tap the RSVP buttons, their answers come back to you in the bot chat. Type TAARIFA for totals or HAKUNA JIBU for the list of guests who have not answered. See Track RSVPs.

FAQ

Can I switch between the bot and the website?

Yes. Sign in on the website with the same phone number and you will find the event, guests and wallet you created in the bot.

A guest lost their card. Can they get it again?

Yes. You can resend it with TUMA TENA or from the guest table on the dashboard. Guests can also message the bot themselves and follow the steps to have their card sent again for a small fee.

The bot is not answering. Why?

Check that you are messaging the number shown on the bot page, and type MENU to restart. If you sent many messages quickly, wait a minute.
