Gift registry (zawadi)

The gift registry is a wishlist for your event. Guests open it from their personal link, pick a gift to bring (alone or with friends as a group), suggest their own ideas, or send money as a gift. You see who is bringing what, so you avoid ten identical blenders.

Turn on the registry

1. Open the event and go to the Money tab, then open Gifts.
2. If the registry is off you'll see Gift registry is not enabled. Tap Enable gift registry.
3. Publish the event if you haven't yet. Until then the page shows Publish your event first to make the gift registry link work. with a Publish now button.

You can switch it off at any time with Disable gift registry. Your list is kept.

Add gifts

1. Tap Add gift.
2. Enter the Gift name, an Estimated price (optional) and a Category (Home, Kitchen, Electronics, Baby, Fashion or Other).
3. Tap Save.

Repeat for each item. The stats at the top show Total gifts, Reserved, Received, Total value, Claimed value, Received value and Funded.

How guests use the registry

Each guest reaches the registry through their personal link, so their name is attached to whatever they choose. They get there from:

• the Send a gift instead button on their contribution page, or
• the registry link the Shereko WhatsApp bot sends when they ask for their invitations.

On the registry a guest can:

• I'll bring it. Reserve a gift alone (Solo). It is then marked reserved so nobody else picks it.
• Start group / Join group. Club together with others under a group name, for example "Work crew".
• Fund here. Pay any amount towards a gift by mobile money or card.
• Send money as a gift. Give any amount without picking an item.
• Suggest your own gift idea. Add a gift to the registry for others to see.

Your own link

The Gift registry: box shows your registry address with Copy link and Open buttons. Open it to see exactly what guests see. Anything you reserve or pay through it is recorded as yours.

Manage reservations

Use the filters All, Available, Reserved, Received and Hidden. For each gift you can:

• Mark received once the gift arrives.
• Unreserve to free a gift a guest can no longer bring.
• Add reservation to record a promise made in person, as Individual or Group.
• Hide from public page or Show on public page. Hidden gifts stay in your list but guests don't see them.
• Remove a gift completely.

Gifts suggested by guests carry the label Suggested by a guest, so you can keep or hide them.

Money gifts

Money sent as a gift or to fund an item is paid online like a contribution: the guest sees the service fee before paying. It appears in the Funded total and can be withdrawn together with your contributions from the Shereko app. See Collect contributions (michango).

FAQ

Can two guests reserve the same gift?

Not alone. Once a gift is reserved solo it shows as reserved to everyone. Several guests can share one gift by joining the same group.

Can I see the registry for all my events?

Yes. Open Gifts in the main menu for registries by event and recent reservations.

Is the registry included in my report?

Yes. The Full event report PDF includes the gift registry. See Reports and exports.

A guest reserved something by mistake. What do I do?

Open the gift and tap Unreserve. It becomes available again straight away.
